Catching up on my Blogging

I was on blogging for Kaisercraft last week so here is a little catch up on what I have been creating:First up here are my creations using the SWEET NOTHINGS range - here is my layout:

To finish a card

I then had a play with the ON THE MOVE range which was fantastic for my little boy Jadeyn - First up a layout:

I then used Kaisercraft's writing desk and changed it into a storage toy box for my son for all his matchbox cars and planes- it is the perfect size!

And lastly a card using the same range.

As well as this I was on the Tuesday Tip so here are some instructions on how to make these hanging baubles:I recently made a few baubles using the “Merry Medley” collection” :

I thought I would do a different take on the above baubles and use the latest release from Kaisercraft ‘Sweet Nothings’.

Firstly take your circle punch and punch 20 circles out from various patterned papers. Take each circle and draw a triangle shape to form the edges and fold each edge up like shown.

Take 5 circles and adhere the sides together to form and top of the decoration. For this decoration I have folded the edges inside the ball so the finish is smooth – for another option adhere the edges on the outside like I have done with this “Merry Medley” decoration.

Continue to add triangle until you have formed a ball. Insert a piece of ribbon into the top of your ball before setting it aside to dry.

Let your ball completely dry before embellishing with Mini Blooms and Pearl Strips.

Materials list: Kaisercraft – Sweet Nothings – Paper Pad, Kaisercraft – Pearl Strips (Latte), Kaisercraft – Mini Paper Blooms, Kaisercraft – Pearl Brads – Pearl, Misc Ribbon.

A little game of TIC TAC TOE!

I was up this month to create a project for the "In the Know" newsletter at Kaisercraft - so here it is! Thinking a little outside the square I took an old hardcover book and altered it to make a game board. Inside there is room for the token holder and score sheets - take a little look here:

First take an old hardcover book and cut out the middle section of several pages to make a storage compartment for the tokens. Use Mod Podge to seal all pages together and when dry ink all edges with silver and black ink. Cover the inside with 13th hour papers. Use 13th Hour Acetate shapes to make a pocket for the score cards (Kaisercraft – 13th Hour - Journal tags make perfect score cards!). Embellish with lace and stickers from the 13th Hour sticker sheet.

Use 13th Hour papers to cover the front of the book using a chequered pattern to make the game board. Embellish with Paper Blooms altered with black glimmermist and Kaisercraft lace. Highlight the game board by using Black Rhinestone strips as your border.

Use Chipboard shapes along with some clock faces adorned with sparklets to make some game tokens. Store these inside the book cover.

Your Game book is now ready for your first game!

Just in Time!!!

I finally received my Kaiser goodies - albeit really late as although my street name and postcode were on the parcel - they were not sure what suburb I lived in hence the delay!!!!Anyway it was a rush job as I was up first this month blogging so here we go....Here is just a little taste of Cockadoodledoo -

And here is a game board I have made using the same range - roll the dice to move through the alphabet!

And not to mention Madame Boutique - yum yum double yum on this one!!Here is a layout I have done using this range:

13th Hour with Kaiser

Hi thereHere are a couple of projects I have been working on with the 13th hour collection from Kaisercraft:“I am a huge fan of black and white so it was an obvious choice what papers I was going to use when I made this canvas using the “13th hour” collection.”

“I found my daughters fashion origami book a great help when I was dressing Kaisercrafts Dress Form.”

“And the “13th Hour” stamp looked fantastic using white ink on the black edges.”

Here you have the finished product – a canvas for my daughters room.

Off the Page with Little Toot and Blae and Ivy

I have just finished my week of blogging over at Kaisercraft - just in time for the school holidays YAY!! I love having the kiddies home and not have to worry about early starts for choir and ukelele not to mention packing the school lunches and organising their after school activities - I need a break!!
Anyway back to Kaiser's goodies for July - so here they are:
First up a little train frame "the many faces of you JADEYN" - I just love this to bits as every photo shows one of his many expressions that just make me laugh!

Tuesday Tipping over at Kaisercraft

I am up this week for the Tuesday Tip - all a bit nerve wracking as what I think is pretty cute maybe just really dumb to others!! LOL!!! - so here it goes - hope you like:

For this flower I took several sheets of paper and punched out quite a few hearts and inked all the edges.

Using a circle as the base I have then glued one layer of hearts around the bottom overlapping the heart as you go around

Turn the circle over and work on the reverse by repeating the pattern so it forms a larger base.

Take a smaller circle and adhere hearts as you have done on the larger circle.

For one look you can now layer your two circles together and adhere a pearl brad.

For something a little extra, take 3 hearts and join together like so.
Continue to make 5 of these.

Place a pearl brad in the centre of a circle and then adhere the 5 heart pieces around the brad and squeeze the hearts together to provide some height.

Use on a layout or on a card like I have done here for a simple yet effective floral embellishment.

TIC TACS TO SHARE!

Hi there
I am over on the blog at Kaisercraft today sharing a little card I have made using one of my favourite things – TIC TACS!

I was inspired by the Tic Tac container which was on my desk. I thought of using this to create a little book with the front inside page being used for the card – and the middle of the book being used to hold the container.

As I am into details I couldn't help but put the barcode from the sticker sheet on the back to make it look like the real thing!

A LITTLE VELVET ENSEMBLE TO SHARE

LUCKY LUCKY ME

Today is the day the Kaisercraft 2011-2012 design team got announced - and although I did have word a few days ago it was all hush hush and you know - you can never tell what may happen until you see it in print so here it is!!

CUTENESS OVERLOAD WITH KAISERCRAFT

If you thought Kaisercraft’s Elephant Bookends were cute enough – then wait until you alter them with the Party Animals range and I swear to you – you will have cuteness overload!

Here I have used the printed chipboard embellishments as they were the perfect size and addition to the front of the bookends.

I also used the cuttlebug to emboss the papers before I adhered them to give each section different texture.

I know my son is going to love these in his room – that’s only if my daughters don’t spy them first for their rooms!

So here is my blog post for today:

The colours of the Chapter One range are simply devine. The teal and green colours touched with the splashing of black are fabulous and so easy to use.

To show the diversity of the range, I have used it to create a layout of my son when he first got his jade necklace to be just like his daddy – so very cute – and thanks to the colours of the range they fitted perfectly for this layout.

I love the black and white stripes so much I have used them as part of the background, but also for weaving and for the ribbons on the layout.”

A LITTLE BIT OF WEBSTERS TO SHARE

Hi there
I have been lucky enough to be working with some yummy Websters Pages from Scrapbook Outlet (www.scrapbookoutlet.co.nz). I just love the florals on these Webster's Pages which are just perfect for the girly pages, but I thought I would challenge myself to do some family pages and a boy page with the florals so here we go:

and now for the boy page - My son has always been fascinated with the toi tois on the side of the road when we have been travelling around - possible because the name to him is TOY TOY so he thinks it is quite funny - he always yells out "TOY TOY" when he sees them - and if you have ever travelled around you will know they are everywhere - so you will understand why a layout is needed for this!
This layout is when I took of him for his first touch of a toi toi (Actually when I googled toi toi - it actually is supposed to be spelt toe toe and is always mispelled toi toi so I will keep with what I have always known them to be- just goes to show you can learn something new everyday!)

IT IS TIME TO SHARE SOME KAISER LOVE!

The KAISERCRAFT Design Team call is up again so it is time to share some of my favourite projects I have made using KAISERCRAFT products in a bid to win a spot on the design team for 2011-2012 - so here we go - fingers (and toes) crossed!

First up is a little train tidy I altered using KAISERCRAFTS K-BOTS collection. This train is one of my all time favourite pieces. My son just loves it and it is so handy in his room to store the million and one little things that previously were thrown in the toy box and lost forever!

TRAIN TIDY

Second up is a layout I have done using KAISERCRAFTS BUBBLEGUM HILLS collection. The colours are just gorgeous in the collection - and I think this layout stands out not only for the colours I have used but I just love the altered wooden butterflies on the layout.

LAYOUT "SUGAR AND SPICE"

Just for something a little different - how about an altered cupcake stand. Anyone who knows me, knows that I just love black and silver. So imagine my excitement with the release of KAISERCRAFTS AFTER FIVE collection - needless to say this piece is another of my all time favourites!

Sticking with the AFTER FIVE collection, I have to include this layout as one of my favourites as I think it is the only layout I have done with hubby and I in it! I also love it as I have altered the photo to keep us black and white but the scenery in colour to add another dimension to the layout.

When I look back at all the fabulous collections KAISERCRAFT have put out - one of my all time favourites is the ENGLISH ROSE collection. The papers are just delightful and the perfect choice I thought to alter the cuckoo clock.

Another layout has made it into my favourites list as I just love the quote!

I also included this double layout as I love how the same photo has been used, but just rotated to give the effect of movement.

To finish off my little collection of favourites I thought I would share a little album I created. It just captures the reason why I scrapbook as the album spells out the name of my son and tells his birth poem along with photos - a very special album which has been a favourite on our bookshelf.

Back from Autumn Escape!

Had a fabulous time at Autumn Escape - I managed to get some layouts completed in between classes and chatting - but as it is with these things - I had a list a mile long of layouts I wanted to complete - and as my husband will tell you I packed for it accordingly :)

So without futher delay here's my Easter project - jazzing up the simple card for an easter theme:

I know in this house we are often overloaded with chocolate at Easter. So with this in mind I have made some easter gift cards which can be used to give gifts of the non-chocolate kind - whether it be some money or gift card.

I started off with making a cracked egg card which is perfect for easter and with the help of Kaisercraft's Bubblegum Hills collection.

Once I had finished this I thought a bunny would also look cute

Not that I was thinking this when I made it - but when you do open it up it does kind of look like a running bunny!

Now for the clue.... Somewhere in this post there's a word you need to find. This word is the 12th word of your sentence. After you have found it, add it to your sentence. Once you have completed the 15 word sentence, e-mail the answer to competitions(at)kaisercraft(dot)com(dot)au before the 18th of April.

Getting out of the Kitchen with Nan's Favs

The latest collection of Nan's Favourites is just perfect for all those pictures I have of the kids destroying the kitchen trying to make muffins - but to show the versatility of the range I stepped out of the kitchen and created a 'boy layout' using the neutral tones of the collection.

The torn paper added some layers to the background, and the addition of the gate was just too cute to pass up!

HAPPENINGS AT SBO

Here are a few things I have been working on for SBO - My collection this month was the Fancy Pants - Love Birds collection - and it is just the cutest. LATEST WORK WITH KAISERCRAFT

Hi all. It has been a little while so here is a quick update and a sneek peek on some of the things I have been lucky to work on:

First up - have you seen these gorgeous paper flowers from Kaisercraft. Anyone who knows me just know I lllooooovvvvveeeee flowers so these I found just devine to work with:

The most gorgeous collection from KAISERCRAFT was released in February called MAGIC HAPPENS - and with two girls in the house - this range was perfect for all those fairy photos - here are a couple of my favourite layouts:

I also used to range to alter KAISERCRAFTS fairy draws for Mikayla:

The ENGLISH ROSE COLLECTION from KAISERCRAFT was also one of my favourites and I used it to alter a cuckoo clock

EGGS FOR BREAKFAST ANYONE?

Ok I admit it I just hate throwing away anything!! I have a belief that one day that very thing that my Hubby wants to chuck out and which may look hopeless now may come in very useful!! Between you and me those very days where things have come in very useful are very rare! And so to my scrapping room – I have a little (which is growing bigger) stash of product packaging which I have been saving for that “very useful day” – and guess what TODAY IS THE DAY. Over at SBO (www.scrapbookoutlet.co.nz) I am on tuesday tips/techniques - so for this I challenged myself to do a layout with only packaging…

So I started with this …

Made these...

And ended up with this…

I think I achieved the challenge although I did call in help from some alpha stickers!!

So what tips did I pick up doing this layout:
1. Don’t throw away anything!!
2. Most of the plastic packaging is sturdy enough to curl, make pockets out of and twist and turn to make ribbons!
3. Have eggs for breakfast! The humble egg carton was great through the cuttlebug and the glimmermist just loved it. If you take a closer look – the humble egg carton is what I used to make the flowers – here’s how:

To make the flowers

1. Cut the egg holder off the carton and trim to make even
2. Make some cuts down to the base and snip the ends to make a petal shape
3. Make one slightly smaller by trimming the egg holder closer to the base
4. Push flat and glimmermist
5. Use double sided tape on a piece of card and coil the string around to make the centre – trim and adhere
6. Add plastic ribbons and leaves from corrugated cardboard and green packaging to complete the embellishment
7. I also took the flat pieces of the egg carton and embossed with the cuttlebug – then inked them for the top and bottom pieces of the layout.

So in doing this I hope you all will find new inspiration in your humble egg carton!!

Have put together a sketch - a layout based on the sketch titled GIGGLE and a card. My latest challenge is to create a card with the scraps from every layout I do with the hope of getting a stash together. I am forever trying to get a card done at the last minute so this way I should hopefully have a stash to call on. So the card is def optional!!

OH SO CUTE!!!! I have been lucky enough to work with the Basic Grey – Max and Whiskers range for SCRAPBOOK OUTLET (www.scrapbookoutlet.co.nz) These papers are just the cutest papers ever!!! I used the Max and Whiskers – Hercules paper on the canvas I have done for my sister who has just last week had to put her beloved dog down.
I didn’t think about it at the time but it is an apt name for the paper I used as Tyson was not a little puppy to say the least!!!

I used a Basic Grey chipboard album - Lotus for the Our Pets album below. They are brilliant to work with – 8 pages in dark chocolate so the white pen worked a treat for the faux stitching on the album.

This was another of the layouts submitted for the DT entry at SBO - I didn't know my camera had this "smile function" - set to smile and the camera will automatically take a picture when the subject smiles - Brilliant idea - and of course the kids thought it was a big joke and played up to the camera trying to trick it - hence the layout of Natasja - using latest origin collection from BG.
Not sure why it wants to load sideways but you will get the idea anyway :)

I am back!! - not that I have been anywhere but somehow scrapping has been pushed down the priority list -(which is not right!!!) - have been doing a few bits and pieces (of which some I can't tell) but I will add a few pics of what has been keeping us busy!!!

The kiddies have been busy with an ATC swap over at SBO - a HUGE THANKS to Nik for organising it all - and for the lovely help of SONYA who gave me a great run down on what I was supposed to tell the kiddies to do - I hadn't done them before so it was new for all of us - here are the creations and a couple of photos of Jadeyn having fun with the glue dots for his wheels on his train!

We were all lucky enough to receive some fab goodies over the weekend at the Autumn retreat - where do I start!!! Upon arriving there were goodies on the bed - then some devine fudge and fab scrapping goodies on the table - The sales table was there with some fab bargains - and prizes galore!! I went there not knowing anyone except for a few cybernames! Even though it was all a bit nervewracking for a shy girl like me - I was so pleased I went - met some very creative and fab ladies and I am already saving my pennies for next year!!!

Involved a day trip down to Athenree to see my sister for her birthday and have a family get together as my brother was over from Aussi. The car trip was long for the kiddies but made easier as during the week they had won an ipod so it was all excitement on the way down as they listened to endless HSM and Mamma Mia!

Great to be home and back to the usual routine!!
Had a couple of weeks over in Hawaii as Hubby was competing in the World Ironman Champs in Kona - 3.8km swim, 180 km bike in the lava fields, and a 42km run to finish - well they do say there is an idiot in every family and here is the proof of our one!! He had a good race and was pleased with how it all went - so back home now and back to his real job!!
Missed SENZ all together as the race was on Oct 11 so I am sure going to make up for it next year!! Sounds like I missed a good one.

Andrea at Scrapbook Outlet sent out a secret ingredient for a secret challenge - we all got sent a piece of Ribbon and Trina's challenge was use the ribbon in 3 different ways on a layout - here is my attempt- used the ribbon - as a strip on the top, bottom and sides - weaved it inbetween the PP on the title - used it as a border for the journaling card - made a photo corner for the pic - folded it over for the journalling card tag - and frayed the edges of it to go on the bow at the bottom - fun challenge and as always fun to receive something in the mail other than bills!! - Thanks Andrea and Trina for a great challenge :)

Took part in the Bossy Scrapper last night - only my 2nd attempt at completing a layout like this - thought it would get easier but NO!!! Got so lost as I was still trying to choose the photo and I think they were all up to step 4!! Anyway this is the layout which I managed to get finished this morning - Not sure if it is completely finished but thought I would get it off my desk for now!

Yippee - just found out that the lucky number generator generated ME and I am the lucky winner of the NZ Dare 50th challenge - won a fab collection of stuff from Qtea so can't wait to get it!! Check out the NZ Dare link to see the Layouts and well done to Niella!

Everyone's blogs look fantastic so I thought I better do up my banner - I took a few pics from around the place and this one stood out so here it is - for a while anyway - I am sure I will get bored with it so enjoy this one while it lasts!!!

After spending a bit of time online I note that everyone seems to have a blog so I thought I better get one - seems a great way to keep all my layouts together in one place - so here it is - obviously still trying to work out how it all works but at least it is a start!!! Thanks to Peta Stokes article in UP2SCRAP for her easy step by step instructions - I am proof that they are idiot proof!!!
